Water resources: In the 1960s, the Lebanese government accomplished the project “Litany” and dug a tunnel to drag water from the Litany river Markaba lake to the Anan town having a 16Km length, passing under Niha mountain and created 2 openings in Wadi Jezzin and Azour and a lake in Ana to collect the water; linked by giant steel pipes through the town of Kattala to nourish 3 electric plants. In addition, a lake underneath was made to collect water again and pour it into the Charles El Helou plant. The Anan lake irrigates the ‘Leb3a model project’.
